My traditional toolset has been built up over a number of previous bikes from Harley, GasGas, Dakar to GS12. So it got quite well whittled down to essentials that covered most of the bikes (changed from imperial to metric after the Harley of course:blast).

This was all great until (after covering several thousand miles in UK and 2 months tooling around France and Spain with no problem) some scum bag nicked the contents of my GT Moto tool tube right outside my house in Spain! And took the lid too ba*tards:mad:!

Now I'm at a bit of a loss as to what I really need in that tool tube specifically for an 08 GS12?

In addition to basics (screwdrivers etc) what specific sizes of spanners and sockets should I have?

I carry a compressor in my pannier (when I have them on) and tyre plugger in my topbox (always on), and torx and allen keys under the seat at all times.

What else do I need that will fit in the tube:confused:?

I've noticed that the application of these two tools often results in significant waiting periods, large bill's and mucho time spent in other folks vehicles! Not quite what I was hoping for - though your estimed input has not been completely flushed...:comfort

and then drill the tool tube cap through the body when together in a couple of places and then screw a couple of anti tamper screws to hold the cap secure (keeping the anti tamper screwdriver tip on your key ring)

Had the setscrew in place but an hour or so before I'd started to loosen it to get a driver when a buddy popped up with one. Guess I didn't re tighten the setscrew. Got a new one with a new top from Gary at GT Moto now. Try not to be so dumb next time!

I've found O2's coverage to be pants. Vodaphone's the network to go for....
