A great little video by Motolegends with some useful information.

A different set comes out if the target audience is German, as regularly seen in the German Touring magazines. No doubt the French have their top 10 as well.

I own a Lindstrands (not Halvarssons as Motolegends keep on claiming ) Sunne jacket and trousers and rate them as better than either my Rukka Orivesi jacket or my BMW Rallye kit for general Spring. Summer , Autumn and touring use. For sh*t weather I keep going back to my ancient Rukka Arma S and trousers

Like helmets, gloves, boots, tents and tyres, every man and his dog has their favourite.

Ironically, the guy on that video starts by slagging off other reviewers who only review what their magazine advertises.
Then he proceeds to only review what he sells… what a plonker.

Some of them jackets are over my budget.
Some you pay a lot of money and then have to pay extra for armour or other layers.

I do need a jacket, I was looking at the Klim Carlsbad until the lad I ride with bought one lol
So, I don’t want to be wearing the same even in another colour.

The “Rev'it Sand 4 H2O” look like good value, so may go for that with the matching pants.

I like his explanation between ‘adventure’ and ‘touring’ jackets. Had always thought laminate goretex was the best but not always as the first layer it seems - well I never :thumby:

The jackets in his stock are chosen because they work I guess. I’m not sure my RST would really be up to the challenge but at 25% the price what do I expect.

.

Yeah, what a plonker. ! You’d think he’d review what he doesn’t sell :-)
Chris (and his wife Sara) have built up one of the largest and most successful bike clothing companies in Europe.
Apparently last year Motolegends accounted for 50% of the WORLDWIDE sales of the Klim Marrakesh jacket !!!

This was their delivery of 2023 Klim products last week.
Nine pallets !!

They only stock the brands that they consider the best-hence no RST,Alpinestars etc, though I do think they should keep Rev It kit as that is top quality.

The shopping experience as Motolegends is second to none.
Where else do you get greeted with a pot of tea or coffee and a biscuit and then the undivided attention of a salesman to make sure that help you as much as possible.
They are almost guaranteed to have every size and colour of whatever you are after.

Then they are more than happy for you to leave empty handed and then go Pricebeat any of their stock to save yourself 20% (if you know how :0).

A fabulous company to deal with. Chris is certainly not the plonker here.

+1. They have always been an absolute joy to deal with and consequently I have bought far too much stuff from them :D

He only reviewed his own stock lol

its like me saying "the BMW GS is the greatest bike ever made" cos i own one?
or England is the greatest country in the world because im English
Samsungs are better than Iphones because i own one

etc etc...

If he was doing a proper review of all jackets he should have done the flagship jackets from all brands, whether he sell them or not.
his video works only if you shop at his store only.

I'm not saying he is a bad person.
He's obviously a successful businessman and people like yourself think he gives good service, which is fair enough.
he's a good salesman too, if you want a jacket he reviewed you know where to buy it ;)

Bought one last year, excellent quality, well made and well thought out. All zips and clips etc work well and it’s comfortable

Used it through the end of last year and the beginning of this year, surprisingly warm with the 2 liners in, I’ve also used the waterproof liner on the outside which is brilliant as the rest stays dry

I like the weird front pockets, they’re very secure and I think waterproof. The only thing missing is an upper chest pocket, there’s one on the inside but it’s quite low and made of the inner liner so not as robust as one made from the rip stop outer material

Haven’t had a chance to test it in hot weather yet so can’t comment on the vents but I think it should be good, I’ve got a mesh jacket for when it’s stupid hot

So far I’m very pleased with it :thumb2

+1! :D

I have always had superb service from them, and when I had a minor niggle with my Rokker jeans they immediately sorted it out with no quibbles.

They only stock what they believe to be high quality bike kit and they have always been honest about why they go for certain brands and not others.

Having said that, they are also very good at marketing the products they sell - not that there is anything wrong with that.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a jacket with a removable water proof liner that you can wear on the outside of the jacket? I thought it was all just laminate options or waterproof in the material part. My RST Just has a removable quilted liner. When it’s really nasty weather I drag my mountain equipment waterproof out and wear that over my jacket - and I know that is ‘very waterproof’.

I’ve got the black one but here’s a good review

Check at the end for the liner tip :thumb2

Thanks for that :thumby: Clearly my budget has never been enough.:D I’ve just used the kit I have which has been a cross over between motorbike and mountain.
