top box conundrum

hey..got a 1100gs with beemer top box.The locks broke onit...which is held in with 3 screws & is totally removable.BUT..!..bmw tell me that to buy this new lock (about the size of a fekkin milky way bar..i have to buy the whole top box assembly (oh...minus the lid)..for £130+!..anyone else had simimlar prob or know where i could get the lock sorted without having to resort to buying new luggage.(sounds like a con to me somehow)

try second hand parts ..motorworks or james sherlock (01769,574350) these are very helpfull .

I almost bought a top box lock barrel from SLM BMW in Caterham, Surrey. Say 'almost' as they had misinformed me and ordered the wrong thing.
Cost was about £13 inc 2 keys so me thinks you are being swizzled.
