Ally Boxes

Anyone know if there is an Ally pannier (other than the TT) that will fit on the BMW system rails?

We intend to wrap the Laptop very well and that's why it won't fit in the BMW system panniers, I could place it there but it wouldn't be as well packed as in the Topbox (with foam and bubble wrap).

We could do with Ally panniers but don't wanna spend 500 quid right now

I reckon:

Either you have a laptop with a removable HDD: Remove the hard disk and carry it in a rucsac, tankbag or bumbag (suitably protected)

Or: you need to carry your laptop complete, in which case I would recommend that you carry it in a rucsac (suitably waterproofed).

I think panniers and topboxes transfer too much vibration to the likes of a laptop.

Let's face it..........we never back up our data often enough, so it would be a severe bummer if the laptop crashed through vibration etc .

As Margus suggested I went to have a look at the Alpos panniers and luckily found that Yosi was selling some , he very kidly even fitted them for me today in the morning and I'm really happy with it, 100 miles back to Cambridge (M25 - M11) and even though the bike is much wider I didn't notice much difference when speeding...

Now just gotta sell the BMW system panniers and job done

I'll post some photos tomrrow
