Hi all,

I'm looking at getting a Givi E460 Top box for my GS. I note that the maximum load is 10kg. However, the Givi rear plates that I'm looking at state that the maximum load they can take is 6kg:

Seems a bit strange to have a top box than can carry 10kg weight, but the rack to which the top box is fix cannot cope with that much weight. Have I missed something? Can anyone recommend a mounting plate that can take 10kg?

You wont want to carry much more than 6 kilos in a top box anyway as the bike will feel wallowy with the weight up high. I think the gsa metal boxes are only rated at 10 kilos...:thumb2

You need plate no. 689, it replaces the passenger grab rail, but has higher load rating.:thumb2:thumb2

6kg is 6 bags of sugar, that is a fair weight. Put heavy as stuff on passenger seat or side panniers

Interesting. Fair point regarding carting around 10kg, but just found it odd, esp since the two products are from the same manufacturer.

oOoOo I just love buying toys for the bike :D
