hi

have just bought a gs rallye, it has no top box on atm, and just the standard fitment grab rail. can someone point me in the direction as to which rack i need so i can attach a sub plate to to add a top box

its a 2017 model if that makes any diference

if you have the std GS rack, you can add a BMW plastic box, If you want the BMW GSA Metal box, you can remove the existing rack and put the std GSA on, If you want a Givi Box, you need to purchase the Givi Adapter, which is bike specific, then you have a choice of Givi Boxes. Think Delboy has just fitted a Givi Box to his GS Rallye ( 1250) go through his posts to see it looks on the bike

This is the top box on the bike

So the givi adaptor plate fastens directly onto the gs original grab rail, or so it looks in the pic

Yes, the GIVI rack is bike specific. I ordered the one in the ebay link and it fitted straight on to the bike.

You can then fit any GIVI monokey top box.

Really easy to fit.

I put an SW Motech plate on my 1250 Rallye (cos they are black) with an additional fittings kit to make it compatible with Givi monokey, already had the top box.

M&p sell a 49 liter top box with a generic plate for £49 keeps your sambridges dry. JJH

Same plate but silver, takes givi adaptor or any other as well as a roll bag plate.

Yes i fitted an SRA 5108 i think it was. My bike is the 1250 GS Exclusive are the racks different on a Rallye not sure. But beware i also fitted the upgraded bracket below the grab rail because i thought the plastic grab rail wouldn’t be strong enough. However that bracket will not fit the grab rail if you ordered the bike to have the oem topbox, the grab rails are more beefed up on them hence me fitting the after market strengthening plate. Not sure if that is clear but if you need more info feel free to ask. Del
