Uninterested in all the bollocks, but lacking self-control...

make a desktop icon (or bookmark) with a shortcut directly to this forum and its cuts out being distracted by all the other crap :thumb

Of course you have to have SOME self-control (which seems a weak point of the members here ;)) not to navigate elsewhere, but it can help...

Oh, and what about a moderator who actually has a 1200GS, might be a good idea for the 1200GS section ;) Mouse or Wraithrider or someone. No disrespect to our current mods, but seems a sensible suggestion.

Good idea & a very sensible suggestion. :thumb

Thing is, I believe that the "vision" for the 1200 section is not that it's a general forum for 1200 owners, but that it's a place to discuss 1200 specific technical issues. What counts as a technical issue is a matter of opinion mind you :) I think the overall value of the forum, and the spirit of the place, would be lessened if 1200 owners only posted here and owners of other bikes posted elsewhere.

As for the moderator, their job is merely to enforce some standard of civil behaviour, I don't really see that they need to be a 1200 owner to do that job.

Feel free to correct me on these points if you disagree.

That was what I thought when I read the suggestion, the moderator of the jokes forum isn't funny but he can still do his job there ;) :D

Rich...I very rarely get involved in this section...it doesn't need much 'moderating', all it needs is a bit of admin from time to time (IE deleting duplicate threads, tidying up, moving things if necessary etc.)

If you can find an example of how me not having a 1200 has adversely affected the section, I'll certainly amend my ways or speak to Paul about it.....but I do take care not to knock the bike or it's owners, saving instead my derision for those poor saps who own the wrong colour Adv ;)

Sorry Rich, but cannot see why there is a problem. I have only been a member for a couple of months, but have not seen any problems in the 1200 section.

Yes thare are a few issues in other sections, which would of course still happen even if your suggestion materialised, but I cannot see why the 1200 section needs a specifc moderator.

In general I must praise the input to UKGSER.com and have found it to be one of the most humerous, but still informative, sites that I have visited.

How bizarre lmao. Is this a UK thing that there is the clique of the 1200GS? Good grief its enough to put you off the bloody bike. I don't recall the 1100 or even 1150 generating anything like this.

I've posted in the 1200 section quite a lot and think that now it is time to DELETE the 1200GS section. Technical questions can go in the other sections - after all the 1200 section was here for "Info, photo's, tech sepc.... etc", which I think we all know about now.

Just tossing an alternative viewpoint around. But GSMonkey thats an INTERESTING suggestion :D
