Planning to do the JOG to Lands End run this weekend. Was planned last year so didn't foresee the bloody petrol strike. Any one up in John o' Groats that know what the petrol situation is? Planning on Leaving JOG Saturday morning around 2, heading to Inverness, Fort William, Loch Lomond. Want to keep as far away from the A9 as possible.

PS. I don't have one of the 4*4 so this is my contrubution to global warming.

Hiya, I don't think you'll come across any problems, but there will probably still be the restriction of £20 per vehicle. Oh and off course there's the ever increasing cost per litre, diesel is now 1.30 here!!
Good luck with your trip, sounds like a good one.:thumb2

Thanks. I was hoping for some positive words. Went thru to Edinburgh this afternoon to pick up Taureg trousers (my Spada lasted 2 years but now the bottom is leaking) The Taureg feels very comfy, will let you know how waterproof thye are. But in anycase past two filling stations in Edinburgh that had notices up -Out of Fuel, and thye were closed. Someone is making a huge amount of money out of this.

We will leave Friday midday here for JOG and then if we make it make it a two day trip from Lands End back up. I not hard enough to do it back in one day I think.

Cheers.

The Scottish 'Pre '65' two-day trial is at Kinlochleven on Friday and Saturday, followed by the Scottish Six Days Trial starting in Fort William on Monday (Parade is on Sunday).

You may see a lot of bikes around Fort William.

Bob.

I'm cycling this later in the month but coming uphill (Lands End up to JOG)

I'll just have to worry about there being enough pie shops for fuel...:thumb
