Torbinators...worth the cash or waste of time?

As I've been tinkering with the 1150GSA to get the set up just right the one area I'm a bit stuped on is the wind shield. With the standard GSA screen on the bike I get terrible buffeting and noise. Without it the buffeting/noise is reduced but then I get hit by the full force of the wind which isn't great on a 'sit-up' bike like the GS.

So, do I buy torbinators (quite pricey  ), or a different shaped screen (recommendations?) or are there bolt bits for the existing screen or perhaps some modifications to its shape that help?

I'm assuming its all down to shape and angle and the ability for air to pass underneath but is it truly possible to find a sweet spot between hellish buffeting and just taking the wind on full frontal. I don't mind investing the money on a solution that works but would like to investigate some 'home made' options...

Your thoughts...

yes

the 3 things that the 1150 adv needs are
1 decent rear shock
2 light conversion by btbr
3 tobinators

plenty of s/hand ones about if you wait a bit

After moving from a standard 1150 to an ADV I could not believe how bad the screen was.

May not be so bad for more verticaly challenged but bloody el  felt like someone was punching me as I rode along.

Set of Tobinators and what a difference..... Chin piece up at 90mph and no buffeting :thumb2

Well worth it.

Got mine on the GS with standard screen.

First bonus: Cuts out buffeting once they are set right. This can take a few attempts and some time. So dont be in a hurry, approach it methodically, the results are worth the effort.

Second bonus: Fell of my bike in car park in Frouges in france, bike and me fell against a people carrier, if the screen had been mounted on standard mounts, the screen would have cirtainly broken, and maybe taken come of the upper bodyworketc with it. However the tobinaters, allow its to flod right back (due to the slotted rear set) and not snap. Took a few tries to get the screen back to where it was.. but it certainly saved me a new screen and damaging the people carrier.

Third Bonus: Can help raise the screen a little bit to give you tad more weather protection.

Honest moment:
Downside: Can allow rain water in heavy downfalls to collect on silver bug/guard/windshield and drop off edge onto clock faces (this is a minor irritation, I stress the "minor"). Not a real problem, just it happens and sometimes have to wipe the clocks.

Great product.. :thumb2
