Hi, I am looking to fit MAM X Heads to my GS 1250. Whilst the MAM video advises 'tighten by hand', I was wondering if anyone could advise the correct toque setting for both the two bolts that go under the cylinder head cover (in the two vacant threaded holes) and also the one that replaces the single spark plug cover bolt towards the top? Also would you advise using blue thread locker to secure these bolts?

Officially it's 8-9nm for the long bolts and there's no torque information for the smaller ones. As Winjar indicated, Just nip them up. I've done this over three bikes and six years of use and never had a problem.

Go careful, the original bolts for the 1200 version of the xheads were made of cheese, with more than one poster having a bolt sheared off. I believe they upgraded the bolts, but best go steady. As above, just nip them up.

Nipitup, small bolts. Gudentite, medium sized bolts. Titeasfuk, larger bolts. ;)
You are welcome.

Is correct they change the big bolts not small screw :beerjug:

Forget the torque wrench it may cause you issues, as others have said, a just nip and add a bit locktite if your not too sure.
