Hi

Can anyone recommend a decent torque wrench (and priced) for axle nut, need to adjust chain on a F800GSA.

Thanks

I bought one of these back in October last year. It’s pretty good. :thumb2 Dunno if your axle nut is within its range but there’s probably a heavy duty 1/2” version?

Whatever you do don’t buy a Draper torque wrench. After a very short space of time mine became self aware and started doing it’s own thing!
Best stick to something decent, i like Norbar who I believe make torque wrenches for other people, Halfords to name but one.

Thanks, looked at the Draper on Amazon, had bad reviews

Halfords advance range.
They have 3/8 and 1/2 drive. They also come with a calibration certificate. I took all my torque wrench’s for checking last year, and my Halfords was still spot on after about 20 years.
That's what i bought in two different sizes. Never used them yet mind.

I've always considered it best practise, but...

Thanks for that! I've always zeroed mine, I wonder how accurate they are now? The minimum scale markings on mine (3) are all zero, rather than 20% of max ??? Intuitively, it does feel right to me to unload the tension.
