Does anyone know the size of the torx required for the lowers torx bolts on the GSA crashbars? I need to remove the bars, but the torx bolt is accessed through a hole which my present torx won’t go through so I need to buy a longer torx spanner thing :D

Get a set of torx T bar wrenches, that'll do it, just like an Allen key but torx end, I use mine a lot on the bike, I bought a bergen set with both torx and Allen keys in it.

I got a boxed set of 10mm drive bits. They are about 3” long and include socket hex, Torx and spline. They have drive tools but can be turned by any M10 socket or spanner.

Thanks, I have a good selection of torx bits, both the smaller ones and larger ones with socket attachment fixed, the problem is that the ones with socket attachment fitted are too short to go through the opening for the lower part of the crash bars. Have just ordered a selection of the longer ones. T bar ones no good for this as I imagine it will take a bit of force to get these out, probably a T50 or T55.

Try the largest allen key that will fit and then try that allen key into some surface torx bolts to achieve the same fit. You can then try your short torx bits into the surface bolts and Bob's your uncle.

Howard, just had a look at mine, its only a GSrather than an GSA, so they may be different. But, assuming you mean the two mounts low down under the cylinder, the front has a torx bolt that is visable, the rear looks like its deeply recessed. Is it that one you’re on about? Cos if it is it doesn’t need undoing. The bar just locates at that one, just undo the front one along with the upper mounts and it’ll come off.

Thanks for that, yes it is those two that I need to undo so that’s very helpful, problem is that my existing torx are too short as they are permantly attached to the socket. Have just had a set of longer torx delivered so should be ok now :thumb2

But the only one that needs undoing is the front one thats quite visable which I’d have thought your existing tool would do. Although by now I’d guess you’ve found that out :)

Just sorted it, thanks for the tip ref the part that just goes over the frame :thumb2 As you can see my smaller torx will not go through as it is too short and the socket part is too wide to go through the hole :blast

Your Torx bit looks like mine (10mm hex drive). Just use a 10mm deep socket. Mine works with the Torx kit 3/8” drive adapter or a 1/4” M10 long socket.
It might also work with a 10mm ring spanner through the gap in the crash bar bracket.
