Leaving Portsmouth Wednesday arriving at the hotel bar some time on Friday.

With a leaisurly ride down, stopping somewhere in the middle of spain thursday night


Returning back leaving bilbao the following Saturday evening.

To save you all guessing. I have had to.

A work commitment means that I have been forced to. It's something that came up last week whilst I was away; I would be foolish to ignore it. As soon as I knew it was definite (yesterday) I let Greg know.

As I organise lots of jaunts I know how these things happen. I had one on the morning of departure of my last Wander to Annecy. The world does not stop spinning, that's for sure. I have another on my next Wander, too. Again, the sun is still coming up in the east and descending in the west. I very occasionally get a 'No show', these just inconvenience other punters as much as (or more than) me.

If Greg has any expenses I am happy to meet them, just as others have done for me.

I was really looking forward to seeing Wapping in the Canyon of Death, the Zoo of Death and the Mosquito Nets of Death.

There's also the Bar of Death - but I know he can handle that terrain.

finn has now stepped into the breach in a deal that I thrash out this morning whilst I was, hem, in Court.

On the day of our arrival (Friday 11 Oct), there will be a fiercely contested quiz-night in the bar of the Alberdini. Luckily, the quiz will be conducted in English.

To uphold the reputation of UKGSer's interllectual fortitude, I have entered a team under the name of Tossers-of-the-Tejeda.

Teams are limited to 6 people. As there will be 7 of us there on Friday night, we must ensure that at least on of our number is always at the bar/toilet/conducting internet research etc.

We need to win this!
