Tosser's light bodge!

Thought i'd check out the access to my dip headlamp bulb in the daylight and popped off the cover to find a lump of sponge behind the bulb

I recognised this instantly this from a previous thread as a Tosser's bodge, the metal clip had obviously pinged off into the distance at some point in the past and been replaced by a lump of sponge.

How many Tossers have this bodge and how long will it last, I think it might be a better solution than the original wire clip (is this an orderable part from BMW....the wire not the sponge!!)

Problem may be worse than just the clip.

The problem is the plastic that holds the clip is very weak and brittle and may have been damaged ... such that a metal clip will not stay in.

If thats the case, not sure you can fix it without plastic welding the clip holder back to original condition so it will be able to hold a clip.

How do I know this??
