Tour-x nose guard

Ok, so slightly off the topic, but I didn't realise you could use goggles with a Tour x with the visor still attached. It might sound a daft question, but can the visor and the original peak be removed and replaced with a standard MX peak?

You can remove the visor and/or the peak. I don't know about fitting any other MX peak. It might be that an Arai MX one would fit but you don't need to do that since you can just use the Tour X peak on its own.

Has anyone managed to obtain one of these recently? My local dealer has ordered one from Phoenix but it's taking forever and a day.......:(

told by Race visors 2 days ago that my order from January would be sent out " imminently" My idea of that is within a few days. Nothing yet

No sooner posted than.........:D

Dazza from Saltire Suzuki popped up on MSN Messenger a couple of minutes ago to tell me that he's got my breathguard in stock.

just phoned racevisors to check availabilty to be told they had come in this morning. So have now placed an order for one via the website as she said it was cheaper.:bounce1

That Helmet!

While I have the attention of a few user/owners of that helmet can I ask if anyone has had any probs with pressure on the ear lobs?

I have had mine for some time and suffer a terrific pain after a few hours of riding. In fact I still have a tender ear after not using it for about 4 months.

Would be interested if anybody has a solution other than a Stanley knife on the shell in that area.

Ta much.

PS it probably is inviting some fun comments back be serious now!

Nope, anything but. The Tour X has quite sizeable cutouts for your ears.

Do your ears hang low, do they wobble to and fro
Can you throw them over your shoulder like a regimental soldier..?

I have My autocom headset in Mine and even then its possiably the most comfortable helmet I have ever owned, only letdown is it is slighlty noise at motorway speeds :)

Delivered from Race Visors today as promised.Great fit with goggles and totally eliminates misting.
Thought I was riding in very high winds today but all was still.Looks like I,m experiencing the dreaded turbulence on 1200. Something my 1150 ADV never did. All posts on this headbanging experience seem to be so different in experience and remedies but dont want to go for an ugly or expensive mod. Not meaning to hijack the thread but have any of you guys with a 1200/Tour x combo got any (sensible!) advice on a cure?. I have already worked out "should have kept the 1150 Adv" option.

I fitted a Laminar Lip to my standard screen and more recently fitted a set of Adventure winglets. I'm not entirely happy with the standard screen and the Laminar Lip and am just about to try a ZTechnik screen, if only because I got it free.

The word is that the Givi screen and winglets are really the way to go.

No, it's a definite improvement. If you got one, I don't think you'd regret it. How were you going to get one? As far as I know, there's not a UK importer. I picked mine up from the "factory" in Santa Ana while we were on holiday in California. Nice guys and good deals for cash.....:D

Ok...if you were anywhere near Edinburgh, which I suspect you aren't, you could have tried my screen with the lip fitted before you splurged out on one...or two. I think I paid about $50 at the factory for mine.

hard to be much further away without leaving the country, but thanks for the offer :)
