Err - dunno. It's the one with the flash stripes on, but not the one with the funny coloured face on it, if that helps. Yes - it is my first one, but not my first Arai - also seems quieter than the FV I had. May be the deep chin keeping wind away from the bottom sides, which it seems for me is where most noise comes from.
Well worth a try in my opinion, and I think they look good.
I've got a flipper roof and a flipper System IV - both fine, but noisier than the TX - and I have to say that I do worry about having a spill with the face up. Handy when you stop on occasions, but I can live without that.
Nice thing about the TX is that the eye hole is wider than standard to take goggles - so you get a better field of vision, which is 1/2 the attraction of the flippers in town.
Bit of reading reveals mine is a TX Storm. The new one is the Challange, apparently. Which makes mine the old one, with a snazzy paint job. But they are still making and selling the old one, so it's not really old, just older. From the web pictures, they all look the same, apart from the colours. generally make the neck roll bigger on my helmets anyway.
Confused?
Edit - read further - they are all the same apart from colours it seems. If there is a whole new coming out, can't find it. I think the "old one" may have been the VX Pro, which was replaced by the Tour-X, so all the Tour-Xs are the same. Pretty sure that's right.
I've found the TourX much quieter on the GS than most of my other helmets, and I believe it's because the others were probably designed with more consideration given to sports-bike rider positioning, whereas the TourX is designed for a more vertical rider position a la GS. IYKWIM.
Also surprised how quiet mine was, at significantly illegal speeds (on a race track of course m'lud ) Mind you the Tobinated Adventure screen makes a big difference as now the airflow conveniently slips staight over the peak with no buffeting at all. The only time I find the Tour-X a problem is in high side winds where it does seem to "tug" at the peak somewhat.
