Is this 'hard part' from touratech really necessary? It appears to be 2 round rubber door stops and a bit of bent ali for an eye watering price. I'd have thought that if your forks twist that much you're heading for something worse than a few scratched fork tubes???

I'm guessing it's just bling as there doesn't seem to be anyone knocking them out in their garage workshop for a fraction of the price.

they prevent the wishbone dinging the stanchions in a minor spill.

you can achieve a similar level of protection, if not bling factor, by gluing bits of rubber to the wishbone. i believe timolgra has done this with a sawn off knobbly :)

That does the job and saves you £80:thumb

BTW

If you are not interested in saving they money, and are not in love with the look of the hard part from TT, check out WL. IMHO it looks better and is a better technical solution. (And as a bonus you get to check the bolts' torque):augie

i got one, and very nice it is too :D

they stop the lock stops breaking, ask ugg, i made my own, much cheaper

Neil, I have the Wunderlich 'bling' lock stops on my bike, I'm surprised you didn't notice them on Wednesday. Got them V early on in the ownership and then discovered the loose yoke pinch bolts saga whilst fitting ......

A much more elegantly engineered solution than that yellow Tonkatech tat.
