Tourance & EXP

Managed to get a new Mezzeler Tourance for the front but realised the back is the EXP.:blast

Would this mix be dangerous or is it ok

Jim:thumb

Of course its not bloody dangerous !!
It may not handle as well as a matched set but no not dangerous.
You can mix an match road tyres all you like, so long as you dont mix cross ply and radial that is dangerous, and its not a good idea to mix styles.
So dont mix a TKC with a tourance, but a tourance with a conti trail attack wouldnt be dangerous.

There are lots of peole who prefer a different make rear to front. I always used to run a metz at the rear and an avon at the front on my last bike. People normally talk a load of bollocks about tyres whats right etc etc.

no sweat.......

Dont worry, its fine and in any event the EXP wont last ten minutes:blast

They wear out FAST

Roger.

What makes you think this could be dangerous?

Of course it isn't DANGEROUS........the only thing that is dangerous is the thought of people riding bikes who don't know basic tyre saftey..............:comfort

Rant over :ymca

Had the same problem on my big winter tour. Front tyre pretty much self destructed on the way to Bari in Italy. Missed my ferry to Greece. And had to spend hard earned cash on a best western (but I digress). Only tyre I could find was the standard Tourance and I had an EXP on the back. Worked fine for me for last 6000 miles. BTW the back is holding up pretty well. It had to cope with Tunisia, Italy, Greece, Turkey, the Balkans and then a trip up to the highlands this weekend and it's still got tread on it. I guess I must ride like a wuss... :ymca2
