Tourance Next tyre pressure Recommendations?

Just had a pair of Next 2 tyres fitted to my GS1250

They were fitted by BMW dealer and have 2.7 front and 3.1 rear

They do seem hard and standard book pressure for the Anakees is 2.5 - 2.9

Anybody have any experience of these tyres?
I have emailed Metzler and am waiting for a reply.

stay with the 2.5 and 2.9 , dealer has got them too high, prob down to the diffrences of using diffrent pressure guages

My opinion is if it is another model or maker, try different pressures for a week or so. Remember or write down what you feel and then change the pressure up or down. If you aren’t comfortable experimenting, the default pressure is ok.
Good thinking asking the maker. They may answer with a low and max pressure or even the ideal for the bike with standard guy/gal weight

I like 33/36 for all solo work as a starter, then adjust from there.
Don`t for get to let us know what the manufacturer says!

Had the Tourance Next fitted 13,000 Kms ago for a tour of Spain in January. I normally run them at 2.5 and 2.9 Bar but for this trip, as I was fully loaded, I put a little extra in 2.7/3.1. That worked out very well wear and handling wise, essentially they felt the same as the lower setting even though I had a full suit of top box, panniers, largish bag on the back seat, large tank bag and top box bag, all full.

All that extra load is over the rear, When braking you will throw the extra weight onto the front, a little extra squish into the tarmac is benificial at that moment, I wouldn't add extra pressure in the front, you will be slightly reducing the contact patch if you do.

At the limits you will be riding that style bike with luggage on the road, it will make no difference

Are you relying on the bike to tell you the pressures are wrong, did you check with a decent manual gauge?

Probably an under reading gauge or temperature. Pressure is to some extent proportionate to temperature. For what it's worth I've had the same problems several times after a BMW service. As a result I always check and adjust after a service.
