Come on guys- I was unsettled by the feel of these tyres and I did ask for any advice.

wtf has it got to do with you then , indeed why are you trolling these posts in the first place as you obviously dont have any experience of these tyres, or do you

looking at your post count (over 3k in just over a year) you either view yourself as the feckin oracle or have nought better to do than trawl though this site looking for an opportunity to butt in with some wisdom or other.

You seem a very pleasant and reasonable chap with an open mind willing to accept anothers point of view.......do you have any experience flying light aircraft ? We would all love to hear about it.

I had a brand new Metzeler Tourance 130/80HR17 65H rear tyre fitted to my R100GS-PD this morning and got into a discussion with the fitter about the correct tyres pressures. He said that we should be ignoring the BMW recommendations of 32F/34R and sticking to the Metzeler recommended pressures of 35F/42R, which I intend to follow.

I agree BMW quote too low figures & my info came from the tech guys direct @ Metzeler

I ran a pair of Nexts on my LC and they were excellent. Grip in the wet was superb. I don't think they turn in as quick as the Anakee 3s but I didn't find that a problem. I actually preferred a little more steering feel.

Only problem with them for me was the rate at which they squared off.

3500 miles and they were 75% worn.

I think there are quite a few of us that prefer the original Tourance tyres over the EXP and Next?

Maybe that's why they are still available?

Went out for a spirited ride today in a torrential downpour with strong crosswinds over my favourite roads on old style Tourances. Had a hoot, I was the only bike around. ( I felt like testing out my waterproofing )

Tourance: If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
