Probably in the office. Again.
Can I transfer a set of TT 41 litre panniers and mounts from an 1100 to an 1150 easily - do they just awap over or is it going to be the job from hell?

Cheers

Cheers Paul

I was planning on picking a set up in Maidenhead, fitting them in my mate's garage, then riding on to Kingswood. Sounds like it's feasible!

Thanks again,

Mark

Hmm, I'm not too sure.

Geckoman has an 1100 and went to a guy who was selling his 1150 TT panniers a few months ago. They didn't fit at all he said...

Those were the special set with the exhaust cutout. Maybe you are talking about the other set Paul.

Gecko, come in please?

Cheers,
Michel

If they are the normal rectangular box type without any cutouts yes I am pretty sure that they will.

the street or city ones wont cos of the different exhausts (at least that what I was told). I was looking at a second hand set once (NOT from this forum I hasten to add!)

Ah - it's never as simple as you think, is it?

These are the 41 litre jobbies with a cut-out for the exhaust. They're on an 1100 at the mo, and I want to fit 'em to my 1150 with standard height, stock exhaust.

Verdict chaps?

Now I'm really confused...

Called T'tech earlier and they reckoned the non-cut out panniers would fit, but the cut out 1100 pans wouldn't fit an 1150...

Jeez.

I'll just go over there tomorrow AM and try 'em out- unless anyone's actually done it for real??

come on you know better than that! Opinions aplenty, actual experience, are you crazy?

MMC, I presume you'll let us all know how the trials and tribulations go?

Shortly to be published in paperback, I suspect...

I may not make it back - I'm yakking at an IAM regional conference about how speed limits are not the most effective road safety tool. Chances are I'll get lynched by an onslaught of middle-aged blokes wearing beige windcheaters and hush-puppies...

Right chaps...

Paperback version...
You can't fit 1100 panniers to an 1150.

Hardback version...
Went over to see the mate with the 1100 panniers and frames, and we started with the exhaust-side one. Good job we did. The pannier frame fouls the exhaust so that you can't get the pannier on. The frame rubs on the 'zorst too... And the indicators are too big (but we thought that would be the case). The exhaust extension doesn't fit either.

Good to see Les, not so good to find that I'm still looking for a set of ally Touratechs (assuming Vern's waiting list is now in years, assuming he's still making Verniers at all...) Bugger.

So now you know.

Thanks Civil - I remembered you had a set of panniers on the blocks, but I suspect you'll not be too happy knocking them out for £275, which is what my mate was selling his for! But the offer is appreciated!
