Touratech bike macs compact tester

Hi all
Was wondering if anyone had any experience with the Touratech bike macs compact tester. Does using it affect your warranty? Is it worth having? Does it do everything the dealers diagnostic equipment does?

Thats bloody expensive, If you have a laptop or a phone with bluetooth you can get one of these

I've got one and it checks for errors and clears them. The BMW guys will know if you used something other than their GT1 computer. But you can't change settings or anything like that just check for errors and clear
