Touratech bottle containers and 06/07/08 Adv panniers

Pretty sure thats what Captain GSA has fitted on his Panniers, so should fit o.k.
Im sure he'll be along to correct me if im wrong :blast.

Has anyone here fitted this to said panniers:

... it's just that the surface area of the front/rear of the panniers looks very small, and in any case I'm wondering how the bottles would fit either side of the lock?

I had these fitted to my touratech panniers I got the bottles as well
you don't need the bottles as you can get some cheaper metal ones from a camping shop or asda
I use one for water and the other one for oil blue water silver oil

also had the 2 litre bottle holder on as well just buy the holder and get the 2 litre bottle form hein gericke

they fit OK and don't obstructed with the locks if you position them correct
be careful of the sharp edges on the fame work

Hi Terry

Do you mean the the BMW panniers (designed/manufactured by Touratech) on the current Adventure (and the 07 and 06 models).

I have MSR 0.8 litre bottles ... and it was obstructing the lock that I was concerned about ... though it looked as if everything might fit okay ...

Hi Terry

Thanks for the info, but as I wrotr, I have the BMW/Touratech panniers on an 07 Adventure, which are not as deep as yours.

So ... anyone fitted said bottle holders to said panniers?

I fitted them to the rear of my thirty something(35?) litre TT panniers. Work fine.

Maybe you should mount the bottles on the rack before drilling. Just to ensure they don't foul the locks.

what do you need these bottles for ?
do you all do a lot of desert riding ?

If not i think Tesco sells bottled water :mmmm

LOL!

I may want to carry stuff I don't want to load inside the panniers; say a fire extinguisher, or fuel bottles, or possibly even water ! ... just to have the flexibility really.

Anyway, the point of my question is to ascertain the fit before buying the mounts.

My concern is that the BMW/Touratech panniers (they were designed and manufactured for BMW by Touratech):

may not be deep enough for the bottle mounts to fit because of the position of the rivets (bottom join) and the locks themselves.

Bottle

If you put petrol in them they'l get nicked the price of petrol being what it is
so you'll need to lock thenm on!.
