Hi All,

I am having trouble downloading the 140mg Touratech brochure from the following link. When I click on the link below IE opens Acrobat and after 10mins or so I get an "I/O error".

http://www.touratech.de/new/main.php?content=19

Does anyone know another link I could try so I can just download the brochure to the computer instead, the same way that other download links work?

Thanks
Gazzr

And welcome to the site to you to...

Here might have been a good place for your first post.

BTBR

He was only trying to help whats the problem :nenau

It always seems a bit unfriendly, to pull somebody up in the first few posts 'Tarka'
stylie :nenau

Or Is there an underlying reason for getting people to post in the newby section first

Hi Again,

Just tried the right click > Save As option. I clicked on Save and it finished in about 2 secs and then when I tried to open it I received an error "There was an error in opening this file" :nenau

Actually I have just this second had another go and its working!

I accept that he was only trying to help, and I dont have a problem.

But the very reason the newby section was set up was to allow people to:

a) Introduce themselves but more importantly,

b) For others to welcome them to the site.

Its very much a two way thing you see.

In other words do as you would do in the real world. For example, would you walk up to a group of people that you have never met before and start talking to them?

Maybe, maybe not, but one things for sure you would certainly introduce yourself so at least they know who they are addressing to.

We must have been really hard back then, before the hello I'm a newbie where do I wait to be introduced before I can join in forum, I remember just jumping in with both feet and posting.

How did we ever survive?

ps. Call me irresposible if you like but I often walk up to people I don't Know and talk to them, I find that's the best way to meet new people. It could be years before we find we have a mutual friend that could do the formal introductions.

Sorry BTBR it was'nt just a dig at yourself, but just the general negativity towards newbies not posting in the correct forum at the start.

As for introductions, if a conversation was going on in a pub between a few people, and a qustion was asked with nobody knowing the answer, if I knew the answer I would volunteer the information, happily, with no introduction. The intro would come later, if needed, but if, when I first spoke, someone had piped up, saying, "thanks mate, but you've done it all wrong, you should have introduced yourself first" i'd probably just walk away and not bother :nenau

Well it's a good way of getting people to check out the forum first. That way they can get an idea of the etiquette and culture before they jump in. :nenau

Then we can be rude to them :D

Yes, in principle........ but the need to be rude when they dont visit the "newby" section ........................NO
