Sign in here if you've got one on your GS/GSA etc!

I've had one since April and it transforms the bike from a lardy old 'long in the tooth' GS into meaner more aggressive looking bike that even Mad Max would steer clear of.

The screen is smaller and gives slightly less 'weather' protection than the standard GS/GSA but it's fully adjustable.

I've also fitted my bike with the new Touratech removeable angular steel headlight protector which goes well with the Desierto fairing.

GPS.....Zumo 220 with Touratech lockable mount on the fairing using some extensions fitted to the Desierto GPS mounting bar which keeps the GPS just below the lip of the plastic fairing in the riders line of sight.

Maybe not better than the original screen but certainly makes for a different looking bike.........!

Expensive for what it is though!

Let's see some pics then, FP :thumb2

They are madly expensive, but strangely appealing

Coincidentally, I got a Touratwat email today with the announcement that they've just released the D3 fairing in white to suit the Rallye etc.

I wish some smartarse would bring out a decently made, painted one for a sensible price, although having toyed with designing and making one, I know where the money goes :blast

Mine:D Was fitted to my 06 gsa and made new brackets to fit my new aniversary model.... The newer one is different but with a bit of patients i made it fit:thumb

Ultimate bling

I love them :D

Put this one on mine, sold the bike now.....wish I hadn't!

I remember some press pictures for Long Way Down and the GSA's had these on, but then were taken off for the actual ride..

I was never sure if it was because they weren't any good - or that BMW thought they detracted too much from the look of the bike???

In fact, just found a link with the pic: http://www.forof800gs.es/viewtopic.php?t=13745

Possibly more likely that with given the amount of sponsorship BMW paid they were not keen on non OEM modifications being so prominent.

That's a lot of money to make my bike look even uglier. Don't care if it gives better wind protection, I find the original screen ok anyway.

FWIW (which ain't much) I found mine better (on my '05 Hexhead) than the stock screen.

On the GS that's not really saying a lot - to be honest.

With the GSA OEM screen you'll have a headache after an hour at motorways speeds. Its what the TT farces were made for. Or was it made to cause turbulence to keep TT in business?

I don't get all this criticism of the standard screen, but then I used to have Tiger 955 and an air cooled Multistrada so almost anything is an improvement. I'm a bit of a short horse at 5'10, compared to the (apparent) average XXXL tosser and the screen is better when I'm using the low seat so maybe I'm just lucky, being the right height.

Lucky you.

I hated the OEM screen because it induces too much turbulence. I'm 5' 8" Its fine at lower speeds but then you really don't need a screen so TBH I think its all about big bike show. Its certainly not a functionally good design.

It's very "Mad Max", but does that vertical blade not cause a lot of turbulence?
To be honest, the Touratech screen is worse than the stock one but for £600 I was going to live with it!!
I do prefer the look of it over stock, it was a nightmare to fit and not worth the money.

I have the Givi AF330 and wont be swapping back. It's currently on the highest setting at the screen mounting adjusting knobs so it's well forwards. Almost no buffeting and minimal wind noise. The Givi logo is quite small so the bike doesn't look "over stickered".

Agreed on both counts, I didn't fit the Desierto because I was unhappy with the standard screen, far from it, just commenting that the Desierto was slightly better at offering wind protection. TBH I'm no great fan of screens of any sort and before getting the Desierto would usually remove the screen all together in the summer.

Anyway, I like the look of them a lot and that was the reason I fitted mine (and as I bought it 2nd hand it was nowhere near the cost of a new one) :)
