Fitted to bike ok but the right hand horizontal touches the cylinder head and the frame bungs don't go all the way in.
Un bolted and jiggled around but still the same.
Any help appreciated.

Are they definitely for the correct year of bike you have as they vary. Hope this helps

Have you got the spacers in the right order. the instructions that come with mine were shite. so ditched them and guessed the rest. hope you manage to get sorted.

I will check spacers. Maybe modify myself.

Obvious I know , but have you called Touratech about them , they may help , if not you could check with them the spacer sizes etc. If new from them , return them and ask for a new set.

You've probably done it this way already, but just in case!
The general rule with Touratech stuff, as divulged to me by the TT main mechanic when I was struggling to fit my engine bars to my LC at their HQ 3 years ago, is to fit everything together really loosely first. And when he said loosely he was quite specific that any nuts or bolts should be only just engaged with a couple of turns. Then you tighten everything up in rotation a bit at a time until everything is torqued up correctly.
No idea if that helps but good luck getting it sorted.

I had the same problem with the frame bungs when fitting mine and I tried everything even making slight adjustments to the bars.

I tried the loose fit technique but as soon as you tighten everthing up the frame bungs move ........ took it as just being what it is as the rest of the fixing points hold the bars firmly in place.

I just purchased the Cylinder head protectors to go with the OME crash bars. I would also add that the TT instructions are a jigsaw puzzle. I did manage to get everything fitted but a short job was turned into a long one. I am considering the extra TT support bar for the OME crash bars but have read that these don't fit well. I have a new 2017 GSA and wondering if anyone has fitted this reinforcing strut?

I believe there was a thread on the "reinforcing strut" and alot of people were of the opinion that if you drop the bike the strut could damage the frame?

Without the strut the engine bars will do their job.

Hope this helps.

Turns out the strut will not fit 2017 bikes. Just found out from TT . So not going to happen for me at the moment.

I got one of those reinforcing bars for my 2015 LC form Touratech.............''They don't fit'......................sent them back. Touratech told me that they have had more than just a few similar complaints.
Altrider's web site have a similar ( but better made) reinforcing bar which is 'in development' but will be in production in the 2nd quarter or this year.
Hope this helps.

I had the same trouble tried the loosen everything of technique but to no avail .Then put my engineers head back on starting off with the cross bar that fits under the radiator the is a couple of mm clearance between this and the frame lugs so when you tighten this up is deforms it a bit so I shimmed it up till there was no clearance .Then looked at the side pieces as soon as they where tightened up the frame bungs move out so I loosend the lower mountings shoved the frame bungs home and then looked at the gaps between the mounting plates fastened to the engine and the crash bars measured them and put that amount of shim under the alloy spacers and tightens the up again and the frame bungs stayed put .Then made some new alloy spacers I hope this helps

Thks will check this out. I have had theOME bars on 2 bikes. They do do the job but bend in far to easy. Ny thoughts are the support bars will just add a little more rigidity which with the heavier GSA won't be a bad thing.

Hit them hard enough and any crash bars will bend. There are a few questions
Will the easy bend bars continue to provide protection when bent. Chances are they will.
Will the uber rigid bars transfer excessive loads to the engine case?
Choose the wrong type and you could end up with protected rocker covers with a cracked crankcase

Sent somehow.

Falling over standing still is not what I would call a hard impact. The rest of the bike was OK but the bars did bend!
