Touratech engine bars

I recieved my TT protection bars 3 weeks ago now, followed the assembly instructions listed on this forum, all joints were lightly tightened and i had no problems at all although i admit the top bracket n/s is very close to that darned oil pipe, and in an impact would almost certainly crimp the oil pipe a little and possibly puncture it in a larger shunt.

Fitting took me maybe an hour at best and all in all i'm very happy with the integrity of the bars and also the finish is very good with very neat welds.

Bikes been very lightly dropped once whilst dismounting at Tesco and the bar took the first very minor impact saving the valve cover from any contact with the tarmac, the finish on the bar masks very well the minor scratch recieved in the impact.

Will the TT bars have to be removed for servicing?

Oh no it's not! I fitted them with everything loose. I was prevented from making further adjustments because the large frame spigots,(the tubes which locate locate over the large frame nuts) prevented me from doing so. TT have made a booby with the welding of the upper LH lug or the drilling of the hole. On the other hand, BMW could have made a booby in making the frame!!!! Hopefully we'll find out soon when TT get their fingers out.

Right there with you dude: Everythig assembled slack as a slack thing and obvious distortion present. I am an electro/mechanical engineer with 24 years experience.
Spacers an dicking about are not acceptable. Sopke to Niel at Touratech this morning and he was expecting somebody to visit today i.e: One of us who's bars didn't fit...and promised to email me on Monday coming.
I dunno 'bout you guys but £200+ is a sizeable wedge to me and I'm starting to get cross....
