Hi All,
Well I paid some folding beer tokens £ and bought a second hand Touratech HARD PART ( front fork bump stop).

It arrived so I fitted it

Then as a result of what I found took it off STRAIGHT AWAY.

Well it fits right enough but the stainless braided brake line on the off side run now fouls the hard part bump stop.

Put simply if I am turning right the brake line is being the meat in a front fork/ brake line/ hard part sandwich.:(

Very DANGEROUS and a straight MOT failure point.:spitfire

No matter what I do it seems the brake line is too short with the Hard Part Fitted. (But fine without it fitted:))

I'm not dismantling the brake system and spending more on that than the HARD PART cost just to fit it

Any idea's?

Before I put the HARD PART back on the Sales Section?

Cheers:beerjug:

I'd guess that you've bought an 1100 hardpart - there's a bracket that comes with the 1150 hardpart. I've not fitted one myself, but I guess we've both just found out why it's there

Remove the brake line and your problem goes away

Ditto the above, either your missing the other part or you haven't routed it properly.

Excellent timing Magwa, as I just fitted mine 30 mins ago and noticed exactly the same. The daft thing is that I took it off the previous 1150GSA and I didn't notice the cable getting in the way with that. :nenau

Dooh

Thanks All:thumb2
The worst part is that even if I had the extra piece it wouldn't fit as the braided brake line appears shorter than the standard and cannot be pulled up to the fork leg.( as per illustration)

Guess I shall be selling the part in the sales section then!

Dooh

One silver Hard part for sale V soon

HI Magwa, i have exactly the same prob as you with the brake line, turn right the hose gets jammed in the space in between the leg and hard part. you say you fitted a new hose, which one did you fit, did your bike have a rubber hose?or the braided silverone?how much was the new hose?
thanks Kent
