Touratech-How unhelpful?

i tried to buy a wunderlich part recently from their german website. they won't ship to UK as far as i can see, it just doesn't come up in the list.

wunderlich web price of item i wanted: 164 euros, SPC price 168 fecking quid

they can FRO as far as i'm concerned.

be thankful you don't have a cyprus agent :eek::eek::eek:ing things up for you ;)

Have to agree regarding the picture, bloody fantastic. Reminds me of the wife after I've had nine pints.

I tried to be clever a few weeks ago and order some stuff directly from the German Touratech site but the buggers passed the order back to the UK agent so it was a waste of time.

Learn by experience

I needed an order for Easter 05

Place order with TT UK last week (plenty of time).
I was told goods would arrive in 10 working days.
Goods arrived in 9 working days - WELL DONE TT UK.

Ooooh hang on a moment............!
I'm 1 tyre lever and 2 bungees short in the order.....
Looks like another 9 days then (plenty of time).

GREAT STUFF, SLIGHTLY OVER PRICED.
:(

I have to say in TT Germanys case there customer service ig great. I have had no probs with any of the clobber I have had from them. Emailed them yesterday with a question ref GPS and they got back to me within the hour. Mind you I live in Germany so I suppose that helps! I think TT UK are going down the same road as many UK firms, where customer service plays second fiddle to money. Like was said that aint arsed over bit scosting a couple of quid and yea what is the point of TT UK??

For a set of panniers we in the UK have to pay about £80 extra (and a few days/weeks additional delay) for them to be sent to TT UK who presumably stick another label on them and repost them. As long as TT refuse to deal directly they just run the risk of over-pricing themselves.

TT Customer Service

Ordered some parts yesterday from TT. Only about £160.00 quids worth. The guy was so unhelpful and made me feel that I had interrupted his day with my order.

Anyway thought about it and happened to see this thread last night.

Made my mind up and cancelled it after phoning them to ask if they stocked any items at all or was it all ordered from Germany when customers phoned in. Reply...........pregnant pause and no answer .... Hello are you still there.............How can I help you sir was the reply. And with that I cancelled my order. They were not even bothered. Received a call today from another company who told me why they don't hold stock. Can't repeat t for obvious legal impllications.

Now ordering through another source direct from Germany

Order direct test

I made a visit to Touratech in Germany in 2003 and purchased a few items over the counter.
I gave my name and address in the UK and they pointed out that if I required any future items "just quote your account number on top of the invoice".
I will give Germany a try on Monday and see if the direct route works.
I am sure it will all cost the same £ v Euro & delivery.

I get the feeling TT UK are just middle men taking a cut rather than a distributor offering a service.

When I contacted Germany, I made my feelings about the UK branch pretty clear. Now we're all supposedly european, why not just send direct.............

What I don't understand is that the CEO of TT is on this forum (at least he posted once in reply to an attack on TT).

Why doesn't he intervene..??? And why isn't Nick on this forum ??

Nick Plumb, runs TT UK, BMW Off road instructor and Dakar rally contestant.

Most of us know him from the BMW course.

I was looking at ordering some parts from TT Germany as I had set out a spreadsheet of all the bits and pieces I wanted and was due to save approx £280.

So emailed Germany, a couple of days later, received a reply from Nick to say TTUK would be able to assist.

I sent him the part of the spread sheet showing how if I purchased in Germany how much could be saved. The reply came to say he could offer a discount.

Marvalous I thought until I worked out it would still cost £100 more than Germany. Thanks but no thanks, have friend in Germany more than willing to help me. Free postage as well.

Touratech UK Suck

Unhelpful, not knowledgeable. Instead of "I dont know but I'll find out", I got a very unhelpful "I dont know" said in a way that meant "I cant be arsed". Tossers.

Just took delivery of their two tone higher sports seat (which is good) and a rear shock protector. Delivery took 4wks. The instructions for the shock mount are in German and they've debited my credit card twice for it. Call to talk to them and there's not even an answer machine just a "ain't no one here, call back message" :shoot:

Touratech Double Credit Card Debit

Report them to Visa or Mastercard, whatever it is. They take a dim view of this behaviour.

Also, don't be afraid to send an invoice to Touratech for interest, any bank charges, and also for your time in sorting it out. Shoddy retailers need a kick up the doodah...

I think something went wrong overall at TT. They debited my creditcard twice too, once on the 31st of January and once on the first of february. I received my Visa bank statement and was shocked of course, 2 debits for 390 euro (YIKES). I called Visa and they told me that TT had forwarded 390 euros back on my Visa account on the 26th of february. That was a sigh of relief!
