Touratech Kahedo Seats, any good?

I'm not getting on at all with the standard seat on the gs wc, not just the arse ache but its hurting my left hip after my mammoth 600 miles running in this week. i appreciate that probably makes me sound ancient but im not that old.

So, a different seat is a must....anyone changed their riders seat ? i see kahedo do one but its very expensive so wondered what they are like and if they are worth the money, or if there are any other currently available options out there for the gs wc.

I've tried a various TT kahedo seats for the wc the single low front hurt my ass after 150 miles, TT refunded my money in full. I than brought the one piece TT kahedo low seat, 300 miles today on my new bike and it was painfully, tbh the stock bm low seat is more comfortable. I will use the TT seat for odd days out and touring hols ill be using the stock bm low seat.

Thanks mate, not exactly a glowing reference by the sound of it. Are the 2 piece kahedo seats (riders) any wider than stock?

Other option i could try might be the bmw one piece seat. Or... I could drop the stock seat fitting at the back and see if that helps, though id prefer sitting higher for a bit more legroom.

I also have the Kahedo single sport seat. At first, it wasn't very comfortable, but now that the bike is up to 1500 miles, it's getting better. I've done just under 500 miles this weekend, and feel fine.

I am using the the kahedo front (2 part seat) and it is wider than standard. Using the extra tall version and find it comfortable so far. As Nutty says seams to get more comfortable as you break them in!

Tbh i think a lot depends on your posture and if you've got a big fat arse ! my first batch of TT seats both rider and pillion cost over £700 (I must have been stupid) So when they were not up to scratch i gave nick a call and he suggest i try em for a bit longer, so off i went on a 3000 euro trip, they made my arse feel like it had been spanked with a plank.

When i fitted the NN wunderbitch up and back bar risers, with the bm seat, they made a huge difference.
I've got my name down for a sargent and if there as good as my last one ill be very happy.

Likewise but I've just seen a couple of things that concern me. There doesn't seem to be a low version in the offing and the wording on their website suggests that the seat will be wider than the OEM one. The fact that the standard BMW seat is narrower than the previous model's is the one thing which enables me to use a standard seat as opposed to the low seats, both OEM and Sargent, that I used on my previous four 1200's.

What huge difference did the wunderlich risers make, did they make the seating comfort better or worse?

It made the seating more comfy, I'd advise anyone to try up and back risers before having to buy seats, plus its a cheaper option over buying seats.

I've changed my risers to up and back too - they've eased my back and shoulder ache as my short arms don't have as far to reach, but they did nothing for my @rse ache.

Interesting thanks, does it mess the riding position up or is it thinner than it looks . Have some 15 mm risers I could fit and seat currently on high setting so could drop to the low setting.
