Touratech Navigator IV Locking Mount

Has anyone else stumped up for the Touratech BMW Navigator IV Locking Mount and fitted it to the 1200GSA?

I found this on another site:

and wondered why the guy simply didn't use the supplied 'U' clamps on the back of the Touratech bracket to fit the mount to the screen brace I've got the same original BMW mounting clamp that this guy has used in place of the 'U' clamps as it was part of the Nav IV package. Just trying to weigh up the pro's and con's of each method. Any help would be appreciated.

Right - answered my own question through fitting the TT mount this morning.

The supplied 'U' clamps are intended for fitment to Touratech's own mounting bar with is 1/2" in diameter. The upper screen brace is clearly of a larger diameter so the 'U' clamps don't seta properly.

Essentially I've done what the guy on Advrider did. No problems at all.
