I have just compared the Touratech UK and Deutsch 2005 catalogue prices for a number of items for the 1200GS that I would like to purchase. 750 euro (approx £530) if bought in Germany; 900 euro (approx £650) if bought via Touratech UK.

Having spoken to Germany I have been told that they will not ship direct from the factory to UK addresses due to the distributor agreement they have with Touratech UK. I appear not to be alone in my experience of slow delivery and poor communications from the UK end of the business. I fail to see what they do to earn their 20%.

Any ideas how I can cut out the middleman and get the factory to ship direct to me in the UK ?

they won't do it..this has been covered a few times now...the only other thing you can do is go over & collect...I'm going over next year to the off-road course in Hechlingen and will do a little shopping trip as well...

am I the only one

who gets good service from Mr Plumb and his co-horts at Touratech.they seem to improve all the time and pretty well everything i've ordered for my 1200 of late has been in stock or 7-10 days a way.
Really 20% difference between us and Deutschland seems fair.not excessive and well within currency differences of other EU countries...how do folks go on in Eire as regards ordering TT stuff??

Given that we are part of the EU, where sales tax in member countries is not that much different, why should we be stiffed an extra 20% just because we are in the UK?? And a 7-10 day delivery time doesn't cut it nowadays, especially when there are others out there who can deliver within 48 hours.

Touratech still have a lot of work to do in my opinion.

I wouldn't mind the extra cost if they kept a reasonable selection of stuff in stock but that seems not to be the case? I assume they order from TT only when they receive a customers order?

They've never returnede a call of mine either, despite promising to do so.

I order from TT in Germany & get it sent to a friends who live there. There's also a TT outlet in Hamburg, just north of the city centre. They don't carry a huge amount of stock but if you're heading that way, order & pay by card in advance, they'll have it ready for you. They're also quite friendly although their English is not brilliant but better than my German.

I'm flying to Berlin for Xmas - if anyone has small high value parts they want, let me know. Not to keen on large items as I'm only away for a few days & hope to only have hand baggage with me - no wish to hang about waiting for a full aluminium luggage set to come through on the baggage carousal.........
