Are these any good. There's a bloke on e bay selling one saying he had it on his '10 GS saying how great it was. So, wehy's he selling it. Quick answers please as it's almost fin ished on e bay. Is he bullshitting?
Cheers.

Touratech Lockable Screen Extender!

I thought they were overpriced and ugly......!

Then I got the chance to try one out to see if I liked it, it was also cheap at £30 so I thought i'd give it a go.

Once i'd fitted it and used it it's never been off the bike.......I'm 6'4'' tall and it's made a huge difference to me, on a two thousand mile European trip I cleaned the flies off my screen three times and didn't need to clean my visor at all and it suits me so it's a keeper!

I've seen these selling for upwards of £80 on ebay

Has he sold the bike?

I've not used one, but I met a chap with one who swore by it on his F800GS. Screens are hugely personal, as much as seats, so I'd probably suggest you buy it if it's cheap and try it. If it's good, great, if not, sell it for what you bought it for, you'll only lose a few quid.

I have one on my 1200 GSA and it does improve things, but only by about 50% or so. It's still quite noisy even with the Touratech screen extender. Going to try a different type of screen. Fingers crossed.

(I am 6'4" with long legs).

I guess you really need to try one before you buy, if possible, otherwise if you can get a used one and resell it if it isn't any good.

I've bought and tried about 4 screens on my 1150 and still could not find one that stops the turbulance.
Then bought a used spoiler off here and found it to be brilliant.
I would suggest going with the spoiler. If you don't get on with it then you will always find a buyer on here.

Anyone tried rival extenders from Wunderlich or Puig? Wondered whether the TT is better quality to justify the higher cost...

I used a small screen called Aerotrim in SA.... being 6'4 it made a huge difference...... colelcted my new GSA last week and wondered if something was wrong... massive buffeting.. and realised I'd not fitted the aerotrim yet....!

In my case - yes it made a huge difference!

Where do you get these for £30 - they seem to retail at £80 and for that amount of money I'd rather buy a touring screen..

I was lucky as it was a bit of a gamble and I bought it second hand from a mate.......!:thumb

As I said in my earlier post.......''I thought they were ugly and overpriced'' untill I tried one and I haven't taken it off the bike since I put it on!

I'd have paid full price for one no problem now that I know it works:D I'm sure I saw someone at Touratech(Niedereschach) try one on their bike before they bought it which sounds like a good idea.

I'd really like a Touratech Desierto 3 screen and fairing set up aswell but I know it won't be near as good as the ADV screen, winglets and extender on my GSA30 although I think it looks good.

i had one and got rid of it , didnt notice too much difference to the wind (5.10) but it got in my line of sight so, a bit distracting for me.

TT screen

Brilliant but I found in the rain there was no wind to blow the water off the visor and had bad probs seeing anything so take it off if it rains.
