touratech tank bags

does anyone kow if the touratech tank bag - the one with the 2 10l side bags - will fit the 1150gs at all. I've seen one offered for a very good price, just not sure if it will be suitable?!

What bike did it come off?

If it was an R1100GS then yes it will fit, otherwise, it may not as TT do them for lots of different bikes.

The VP45 is designed to fit a variety of bikes. The tank 'bra' that the 3 pieces all zip onto comes with a hole marked, but not cut, to allow access to the fuel cap. The only problem I forsee you having is if this hole has been cut in a different position (for a different bike). To my knowledge there's only one version of the VP45.

ps It's a very good bag - if it comes with a waterproof cover that looks like a clear plastic shower cap, order the later waterproof cover from TT - a great improvement.

wow, that was a quick reply!

apparently it came off a africa twin, but I've been emailed some pics with the tank bra strapped to a Pan European & Blackbird....the whole for the tank filler access seems to be cut all the way according Mike's description?

(hope the picture shows up - first time I try this....)

Mike, thanx for pointing out the model of the bag. I just had a look on the touratech site - they do have different model numbers for the different bikes, but as you I suspect that they are all the same.....so if its only the filler cap opening in the bra thingy, then I should be alright with the whole in above picture?

That might be the same bra as I've got - difficult to tell. You'd certainly need to widen the slot he's cut at the top end to gain access to the 1150 filler cap.

Might be worth phoning TT and asking whether 'one size fits all' - and how much a new bra would be...

.......just phoned them. alledgedly the base plates are all different and contoured to the tank shapes, AND they do not sell them seperately!? so I think I will give the bag a miss. if anyone else thinks its worth a try.....
