If you mean the VP45, here's a pic of how the rear straps attach...

...the positon and routing of the front ones is pretty clear when you offer the 'bra' up to the tank. I put a layer of anti-scuff blanket (Oxford, IIRC) cut to shape under the bra - never got a scratch.

I originally fitted a dog collar style catch and joined the side bag straps behind the shock...

...but found this was a pain in the ass to reach & undo/do up every day - so I took the buckles off and just tied them to the crashbars.

R1200GS

I've got one fitted to my 1200GS. Followed the instruction (well, my German better-half did!) but not convinced I've got it right at the under seat end.

Seems secure enough though.

And another from the "Outside". Not very neat tying of straps but it works.

You'll notice the extra rucksack type clip on the harness. I put that on so that the strap on the bottom of the side bags can be attached following the same "under frame" type route that the harness straps use. If that makes any sense....
