No prizes except for knowing you were the Top Tosser
If necessary, I will take some pictures, but I am confident that the combined Tosser intellect will not require this
I bought my 2004 1200 GS a couple of years ago, with a mystery device under the seat. I haven't got it with me, so the following description is from memory, which just adds to the challenge. The dimensions are not accurate, due to my failing memoryas I get senile.
It's in 3 bits. There's a flat alloy disc-like bit about 3mm thick and 100mm diameter. It is symetrical on the vertical axis, but kind of scalloped, rather than being smoothly circular on the outside circmference. It has cut-outs, with "Touratech" round inside the upper edge, a kind of half moon round the bottom. There are two short slots in a V shape in the middle, but they don't join up at the bottom to make a full V. The two other bits are approx 200mm long, V-shape in cross-section, and fasten with a short bolt through both at one end, so they either fit inside each other, or you undo the bolt and refasten to make one extended bit twice as long. One end has two projections that fit into the slots in the disc, so you can put the disc flat and slot the end of the joined together long bits into the middle, sticking up at 90 degrees.
There are two different shaped projections on the other end of the long bits.
This describing thing is harder than I thought. It might have been easier to take pictures. But I've done it now and I want to know what it is. It might be really useful
