Touratech

Mixed fortunes

I'm still waiting for a 2610 locakable bracket after 5 weeks ... a bit rich when one has to pay up front, £100!!

In fairness to Nick Plumb, he has kindly offered me their demo model until mine arrives ... always found the guys to be as helpful as they can be, considering the circumstances ... bearing in mind that I think that the problem lies in Germany and/or their shipping company rather than Neath.

But as UK distributor they really do need better premises, or at least a showroom of sorts. A unit on a bleak industrial estate presents a terrible image.

This is all very interesting. I am currently 99% decided to buy the Touratech Tankbag for the 1150GS... but now have to decide where from....

I can't say that my confidence has been built for the UK operation. I have plenty of contacts in Germany that I can order it to be delivered to, with free on transportation on the daily 44-tonner and this may be the way to go?

I looked on the .de site and it always pushed me towards the UK site to shop, but I guess I let them by clicking on the Touratech UK link! Now ordered the catalogue from the English language section of the AG site.... Also as a sort of test, I've emailed both shiops and asked how much inc postage for the bag and how long wait for delivery. See if I get any answers.

I don't hold out much hope as I'm still waiting for a reply over a week since I last emailed TT UK about another item I fancy spending money on.

I'm not chasing a discount, but if one was offered I'd take it, but I want to know that if I order the tank bag, that I might get it sometime and quickly....

I collected the loan GPS mount today and had a chat with Chris, who's a really nice bloke ... coffee and biscuits provided too! Seems that they are inundated with orders at the factory, hence the delays.

Have to state that Touraech kit is worth waiting for ... and they've got a captive audience. I'm very pleased with every TT accessory I've fitted to my bike. Their GPS mounts are a work of art.

Invicta, why not get the wunderlich labelled one?
I think they are made by the same people.

I'll have a search now the boss is at a meeting.... The Wunderlich.de site lists three options but SPC's wunderlich.co.uk site one and with hardly a details bar price....

Am I supposed to buy their catalogue to find out what's what?? I really only want the 25lit bag and as such it's not much different in price in Germany (about £3) but in UK, SPC list the one at £145....

Further to my note yesterday, not had a reply from either TT AG or TT UK.

sent you a pm.
£145? thats probably the one with side bags.:D

Thanks for that. Lost an EBAY auction when a BMW bag went to more than I want to pay for a bag and not far off the list price by ordering from Cannon's or somewhere!

Ended up ordering 25L Touratech bag from TT-AG to be delivered to my offices in Germany for €104 inc postage.

As soon as they saw my UK billing address they assumed I wanted it in UK and emailed to say that they would get TT-UK to send it to me. After a few emails to Alex at TT-AG it is being sent to Germany for me. They say it was despatched yesterday so I'll wait to see it arrive on the 44-tonner later in the week!

Not heard from TT-UK in answer to my enquiry of how much postage and how long to get one. The bag is £77.79 plus postage on the UK site. How much postage is I divvent nah.

I've just found out that you can buy some of the TT stuff from here
http://www.globalpositioningsystems.co.uk

and some of it is marginally (we're talking pence) cheaper!

I was trying to see if anyone else had a lockable mount for the streetpilot III - shame they are out of stock. I've been waiting for over two weeks for something that ships in 5-10 days.

Just had a vey bad experience with Touratech Germany from whom I ordered a Xenon headlight for my ADV. They told me it would be shipped via DHL and when I found that the tracking number was not a valid DHL number they then told me it had been sent by post. I live in the former USSR and parcels NEVER arrive and I told them this. Of course I never received it.
My e-mails querying this had gone unanswered until today when they told me that they don't work 24/7 and I am not their only customer in the world!
The sad result is that as I paid by debit card from my UK bank I cannot claim a refund.
Caveat emptor!!!

another disgruntled customer - i ordered a tail bag for my adventure ages ago - still no sign of same

Spoke to a nice man 5/6 times now, ordered panniers and bags 3/ 4 weeks ago , they get deliveries from GERMANY once/twice a week.

Bags came in 2 weeks back, they are waiting on panniers.

As it come they are governed by TOURATECH GERMANY, so I blame the GERMANS.

They can only send out whats sent, I suppose.

Anyway my stuffs here TOMORROW. :D

I seems like the stock is getting through at last

I received my headlight guard, oil cooler grill and pot protectors yesterday..

Not so sure, I ordered parts from TT Germany & had them delivered direct to a friends ghouse in the Black Forest. I'll collect & fit them in a few weeks. They arrived a couple of days after ordering online. I did so because they were considerably cheaper.

BTW, I'm still waiting for the price to arrive from Nick, promised it nearly 2 months ago....

I have also come across this a few times as well.
I no longer buy from them

Just need to find a good contact in Belgium willing to ship to UK

Hah !!! You'll be lucky ;)

I've ordered from them three times.

1 = crash bars. Arrived a couple of weeks late and only after a few phone calls

2 = Zega cases, integral locks (which are not integral at all you have to drill bloody great holes in the latches!), hard part steering stop, headlight cover + large Zega top box. All arrived late. Had the usual round of phone calls plus another round of calls as the large top box cannot be mounted with the sondersystem panniers (I can't be the first to have tried this combination SURELY?) got there in the end.

3 = lockable GPS mount. Having had experience of 1&2 I ordered in plenty of time. 3-5 day delivery eventually took 5-6 WEEKS in which time, phone calls aside, and returning the first one which came with the wrong lock, the ba*t*r*ds told me I'd been refunded for the returned one and that they needed to take another card number before they shipped the second one. STUPID STUPID STUPID - I did just that and now I've paid twice. Explained this to them on the phone and they apologised and said they would refund. Now, 5 weeks later, I'm beginning court action against them to get my money back.

Cheaper and quicker to order in belgium and have a nice ride over to pick the stuff up.

I will NEVER buy from TT uk again. My dealings with Germany, Italy and France have been good but TT uk really need to straighten themselves out especially as there seem to be more and more places to source EXACTLY the same products around.

Rant over (for now)

Just to update:

have now had refund after having started small claims court proceedings although I didn't get any notification of the refund and it went through in two transactions (why?)

It's finally over.

never again....

.. I'm off to the dentist's now as having my teeth pullled won't seem half as bad.

:D

I ordered some bits recently, was told that some were out of stock and had to come from Germany hence there would be a week or two delay for delivery. Perfectly understandable.

Just over a week later, the whole delivery arrived. So my experience with Touratech UK is that it worked fine.

I'll be fitting the hard part etc. after Alan Jeffries have done their no-quibble, booked when they looked, warranty replacement of the fork brace and wishbone that's showing some corrosion. Top blokes.

Just wanted to throw in a data point that it all works out sometimes. And the bike's great fun.
