Saw what I think was a Tourguard fabric jacket when at the local BMW dealers the other day. Looked quite good, some sort of woven Cordura with extra re-inforcement.

Anyone got one/know much/anything about it?

I have the Streeetguard (shorter version of tour guard) jacket and trousers.

Never leaked and cooler in warm weather than leathers.

Fits well and has 2 year guarantee.

A bit expensive but then again good gear generally is.

I bought the Tourguard and trousers..as they looked ideal touring kit...seems very well made. Jacket and trousers zip together all the way round. I think it's Cordura/Kevlar/Goretex with CE armour. Many of their other jackets are made waterproof by adding a Goretex liner - which means the outer jacket wets out. The Tourguard is water proof from the outside - which I prefer. It also has a removeable inner warm liner. Their sizings are a bit weird though - probably trying to cover the world and all the different sizings in it.

The only problem I have with their clothes is with the knee protection and getting it a) in the right position and b) getting it to stay there - just a couple of velcro strips giving two position settings. No such hassles with the jacket. Don't know if the knee protector thing is the same on other makes...may just be I've got strange knees :(

If you go for the jacket - and trousers...make sure that they're similar sizes...I started of with two slightly different sizes and the jacket to trouser zip arrangement doesn't work...but they changed them without any hassle.

Regards,

GW
