Thanks Arthur.

Been to the first 3 - all very nice (the race track is a long way from the town centre in LM though).

Google images is your chum here really.

Did a short tour with SWMBO last summer that took in Rouen and Honfleur. Both exellent. Cathedral in Rouen worth seeing, looked at the Jean d'Arc museum which was OK (if not stunning) too.

Had a wonderful dinner in Honfleur right by the harbour - very scenic and not overpriced.

Lots to see and do within 100km. I'd recommend it. :thumb2

Hi

Old neighborhood in Le Mans is lovely.

I do not know if you can make it but I would recommend everybody to try to visit Rocamadour.
Just incredible.

Cheers

Orleans. Lovely place. There are a couple of campsites. They are marked on the MICHELIN maps and on the www.viamichelin.com site.
Unfortunately we arrived very late and decided to park the bike up at the big green in the town centre. We (the wife) and I, slept on the benches. Don't do it in the summer....they have automatic sprinklers come on at about 0300!!! :clap

On the way back, we stayed here...http://monsite.wanadoo.fr/camping.salbris/ :thumb

LeMans? Only ever do it mid June for the 24 hour race. Quality, as usual, tickets already booked. :Motomartin

I agree with the above, Rocamadour is great and this pic is of Honfleur with a campsite near to town.

Just to add to the other comments - I stopped in Arras this year for the first time, despite having been through/past it probably 20 times in past years. The centre is quite impressive with a lovely, restored catherdral & several massive squares, with shops, bars & restaurants under the arcades. A bit reminiscent of Brussels.

Been to Honfleur a few times, very nice with some great sea food restaurants. Bikes seem to just drive into the centre & park around the harbour.

Regards,

Charles

Rouen is very nice (for a big city, it's got a small city center)

Rouen

Honfleur is a small fisher town, turned into a tourist attraction. Commercial, but worth a visit.

Honfluer

A MUST see is Mt. St. Michel !!

Hi
If you go a little further south of Le Mans you might pass through Saumur a pleasant town in its own right ,however its houses a museum that i'm sure would be of interest to all GS owners -- a TANK museum! It contains a display of armoured vehicles British,French,German and American and I think Russian from 1917 to the present day,it is both fantastic and awfull in equal measure.
