My new to me F650GS still has the original very short screen. I am looking for a touring screen with the mount/supporting bar.
This will kill two birds with one in not only giving me a better screen and increased wind protection also an ideal place to mount my sat nav.
I will post some pics of the bike this week.
Hope someone can help.

I don’t think you will be able to mount your SATNAV on the support bar

The OEM SATNAV mount goes onto the handle bar clamps

I may have a spare SATNAV mount bracket

Did you look at the link above for a touring screen c/w support bracket ?

I've had one of these and they are excellent quality

Thanks for the reply.
Could I ask why it will not fit on the support bar, is it just a matter of space?
I have found a mounting bracket on Amazon which fits on 12-16 dia bars (Sconosciuto Motorcycle Handlebar Mount) and then the motorcycle mounts fits to that.
Do you think this might fit?
With your sat nav fitted on the handlebar clamps does it obstruct the instrumentation?
Failing all the above I can always go back to using the ram mount!

The screen support bar sits really close to the screen itself so there’s no space to fit a nav Mount

With the OEM Mount the rev
counter is very slightly blocked

Just fitted a touring screen (as shown in this post) and very happy with it.

Did you have any issues fitting it, asking as I bought the same screen to fit my F700gs and the mounting frame was 40mm too wide where it mounts onto the plastic bodywork. The screen holes were fine and the frame fit them fine just too wide at the bodywork attaching points.

I sent it back and got charged £7.50 for doing a return label!

A tight fit on the 650 but it went one without too much trouble.
I guess it is a Chinese copy of the BMW touring screen but the BMW one is over £300 when you buy the screen and the support bar!!

I would have just fitted a spacer either side to make it work or altered the frame to suit

Hi John, the fitting points at the bottom of the mounting frame were too wide to go inside the screen and I didnt want to just bend it in case I moved the top screen mount positions.

I might order another and give it another go

I believe the 700 needs a set of additional mountings as the bodywork changed from the 650. Not easily obtained though I have heard.

Just received my GS on Friday and that has a short screen too. Just today ordered a GIVI touring screen. That one has a smooth curve rather than angles which I think might distort vision. I will let you know how I get on with it. On the previous GS single I modified a car windscreen mount for a Garmin by sanding a curve on it and I have used that for years. Nowadays I have a waterproof phone mount and use Google Maps as any diversions, roadworks, or heavy traffic are instantly updated.

I have resorted to mounting the sat nav on the handlebar, clutch side, using some ram mounts. As advised earlier there is no space to fit the sat nav onto the support bar. What I may do in the future is to mount a sat nav on the bracket that fits on the handlebar clamp but that's an extra cost at the moment!

Thank you for this.
I do have a couple of questions if you don't mind.
1. Is that a cradle for a nav 4?
2. Will a nav 5 fit the cradle?
3. The two cables; is the first one for the power connection to the plug on top of the battery and is the second one for sound but not used on the 650?
Cheers
Paul
