Anyone done it? Is it big enough to do Europe two up?
Big enough in what way? Room for pillion and luggage? Man enough for the mileage?
My pre-owned Funduro did Europe 2 up with luggage and that's a 650. Yes it was cramped but the distance wasn't an obstacle.

There was a time when a 750 was the biggest bike you could get.

We toured France (a few years ago now) 4 up on a K75s and a Honda 500 and we camped so were carrying tents, sleeping bags, roll mats etc
As such can the F800 do it, certainly yes - could it be done in more comfort with a larger bike, also almost certainly yes as well.

Had an 800 for a year after an 1150GSA and did a bit of touring on it, it was fine solo but the seat is an instrument of torture for both rider and passenger, this can be addressed with an airhawk. However add passenger and luggage and to be honest it struggled; the 800 has quite a peaky engine and you will be working the gearbox to keep it on song, particularly in mountains where you really miss the torque of the 1150 or 1200. In short, its a great bike bike solo but I changed to a 1200 for the above reasons, its more than capable, its just more effort and quite literally a pain in the arse
I know it used to be the done thing to do trips on little bikes... I had a weekend away camping two up years ago on a GT250.... but it wasn't pleasant....
I'm just assessing if it would be an easy pleasant thing to do... being that the physical size of an 800 isn't like a 1200 etc

When? Brough, Vincent,Harley Davidson, Ariel square four, Munch Mammoth, Norton commando, R90s, Kawazaki Z1, Goldwing 1100.......That should cover the 1930's onwards.
I think you should sell it and buy the Triumph ...

If you're serious, I've no doubt that an 800 would do what you want, but I've also no doubt that you'd regret not taking the 1150

The 1150 went to Nick Marshall last August... now on an 1100 I picked up in February... so I've managed to keep hold of it for quite a while
Lyn for some reason doesn't like the idea of me spending on a brand new bike

It's how you sell it. Take her out on the 800 (to the triumph dealer..), throw her about, don't give her any room ... and then plop her on the Triumph and glide down the road like silky the silk worm whispering sweet nothings about two weeks to via the Alps, Tuscany... a 4 star hotel in Sienna .....
My girlfriend isn't keen on long rides as a pillion, as she's got a bit of a dodgy back. When we have been out on my 800, I've felt a little cramped, as I like to move forwards and back on my seat to give my knees a bit of a stretch. I think if she were more inclined to go out with me on long days/weeks, then that would be the main reason for me swapping my 800 for a 1200.
As a 1 up tourer, the 800 is awesome, but I don't know if I'd fancy long trips on it with a pillion..

good plan, but don't even have an 800... my thinking was that the 800 may be a cheaper option than the Explorer ...
Maybe I should just keep the 1100 and ride the knackers off that , rather than lyn having mine

The 800 with the 'comfort' seat is fine for two up touring. You do need to wind the preload up though. That is unless you don't mind going straight on at every corner! Plus, for some strange reason, arseache sets in earlier two up when the preload isn't wound up?
It's nowhere near as good two up as an 1150 or 1200, but perfectly up to the job. Much better on fuel, and much better handling etc when one up.

I've had 3 people round with 800s raving about them,until they went to Spain two up.
One 1100 and two 1150s bought on their return.
