I have seen a few threads on Tourtech but I thought this would be of interest. Like everyone these days have got used to ordering on line, so I order a couple of bits from Tourtech Germany in Euros, approx £12 saving on Uk price.

Next day I get email from Tourtech Germany that my order would be dealt with by TT Uk this is followed by a phone call to warn me that the price would increase and I would have to wait for delivery from Germany.

Have you ever seen such non sense and surely TT are breaking some rules within the EU in regards to pricing.

I want the ADV style beak for my GS12 but think I will wait till I am at the BMW event next month and possibly buy direct in Germany, if not have a mate in Germany and just pay him to get the stuff and post back to me got to save money on it.

PS I have no objection TT making a profit but I do have a problem with different prices across EU particularily the UK.

Shaun,

There have been a number of threads on this subject in the past. People have tried to order direct from Touratech in Germany as you have, and they have been referred to the UK importer. Most of the UK prices are higher than the prices in Europe, sometimes by significant amounts when it comes to items like suspension, panniers and exhausts.

I would wait until you get to Germany and get the part you want there. It will save you money, and more than likely, you will get it a lot sooner than if you order from Touratech UK.

Touratech make great products however the customer service from the UK agents is poor. Quick to debit my credit-card, very slow to actually delivery the parts I have ordered despite frequent chasers. UK agent is adept at providing various conflicting stories about expected delivery times and even whether the bits were in the UK. Strangely enough the UK says it is always the Germans fault; nice to know they pull together.

I found it interesting at the BMF show to see that Touratech had a presence for the first time. It was also interesting to see that the bikes were all German registered and the main man himself was over from Germany so I wonder if the UK is being given a shake up.

It would be good as the products are top notch but getting hold of them has been problematic.

TT at the BMF

I called in to talk with the guys on the TT stand, and asked what gear they'd brought..."Tee shirts...hats...and a discounted Garmin GPS"....Oooooo, now then..... such choice!!!! What a wasted opportunity to sell something to visiting GS'ers:(

Don't forget the free plastic bags and the catalogue which you normally have to wait a month for:D
