Went for a ride with SWMBO....went through a village, heard a bang..... she said 'what was that?'

I said 'must have ran over a stone, otherwise the Tyre pressure monitors would go off '

Anyway... a mile later, Red triangle of doom and Tyre pressure warning :mad:

Looks like something really sharp about 10 mm across went into the tyre then fell out again, between the tread blocks in the centre of the tyre...

Out comes the Stop and Go tyre plugger kit, and the compressor..... first time I'd used the kit, and 20 minutes later we're rolling again :thumb2

Surprised the mushroom sealed it given the size of the hole... but it stayed up until we got back ( 60 odd miles )

Think a new rear is in order now

So if you're wondering about a Stop and Go tyre plugging kit... wonder no more .....:clap
 
Had similar recently with a front puncture at motorway speeds. Had the TPM not alerted me, I might have gone barrelling up the off-slip into a tight left hander with about 8 psi in the tyre. People say they are fragile and unnecessary, in the old days we didn't have them etc etc. but I'm not the only one who's glad to have them.
 
Was chatting to the bloke at local bike shop while he was replacing one of my sensors (which had broken during the last tyre change). He was telling me that he had encountered a similar problem with a customer's Kawasaki a little while ago. Not only was the Kawasaki part significantly more expensive than the BMW one (well over £100), the bike would not even run properly without it - the engine management system would drop into "limp home mode".
 
Ive never had TPMs on a previous bike but I'm very glad to have them now and when they do break or batteries fail they'll be fixed.
