So, another week of testing and reports, “Let’s be careful out there” enjoy….. wherever you go and ride

What was the spec of bike you tested? Have read at least two ride reports that waxes lyrical about the fantastic wind and weather protection.I visited my local dealer yesterday to book my 1200 GSA in for the foot peg recall; he had no one booked in for 1300 test rides so offered it to me if I wanted to take it out.
So my impressions; rattled like an old diesel engine on tick over it sounded horrible, goes like shit of a shovel with handling and brakes to match, virtually no wind protection at all, feels more like a light weight supermoto than an adventure bike. To me it felt like a weekend fair weather toy to be taken and hooned around back roads, not a bike that would be at home two up fully loaded for 500 mile days. I would certainly not be persuaded to change.
When I got back I had a look around the showroom and they had loads of stock they wanted rid of with much of it discounted in store (not on line) I have no idea what the hell happened but an hour later I had traded my GSA for a K1600GT. First time in 20 years I will be without a GS, i'm really not sure I have done the right thing but time will tell.
Not sure; but it was this one; What was the spec of bike you tested? Have read at least two ride reports that waxes lyrical about the fantastic wind and weather protection.
A standard Trophy model then I presume with the small screen, the bigger screen is excellentvirtually no wind protection at all

Well excited and looking forward to recalls , abuse , unridden opinions on how shit the new bike is
Are you getting it from Cotswold BMW as TJ does PPF for them ?Well had the nod my bike is here , just waiting for Tony to do the 3M wrap , extras not arrived as yet as I forgot to add them at the time of order (oops) so should have it early next week as my px (June 23 R1250 ) is having a new head fitted so will swap over when I have that back as need a few bits off it. Well excited and looking forward to recalls , abuse , unridden opinions on how shit the new bike is , but above all I will move forward with the wave and not flounder in old memories and float away with happiness lol
Yes I am , Tony normally does my bikes as he’s the best out there in my opinion, he loves the job and it shows .Are you getting it from Cotswold BMW as TJ does PPF for them ?
For readers in the South East, Race by Design has 2 guys who specialize in PPF for bikes.Yes I am , Tony normally does my bikes as he’s the best out there in my opinion, he loves the job and it shows .
I had the tank done on my 1250GS TE Exclusive after one of the mat black panels was replaced under warranty after scuffing up before it had even had it's 1st service. Rob from service recommended him and I watched him apply the film which is proper PPF rather than the cheaper vinyl stuff. As you say his attention to detail is outstanding and it was a pleadure to both meet him and watch him at work. 3 years on the bike still looks immaculate so I'm getting the main areas on my RS done too which I'm hoping to finally take delivery of in a couple of week's time.Yes I am , Tony normally does my bikes as he’s the best out there in my opinion, he loves the job and it shows .
