tps tweaking

hiya,ive read tps setting is between 3.6-3.9v anyone had to go higher or lower than this spec in order to improve idle.i have no ccp,road legal aftermarket can and the tps set at 3.6 but won,t tick over from cold(ok when warm)with beige ccp bike starts better but surges.ive adjusted c02 pot-slightly better but i,m thinking bike still running rich low down.so can i go below 3.6 or is bike gonna blow up..just to say when bikes at full running temp runs great

The BMW setting is approx 2.6, so i wouldn't worry to much.

very good mr steptoe,i suppose i deserved that.i,ve just been out and set the tps to 390(from 360) and the bike ticks over better and ive just won myself a gunsons gastester off fleabay so ill set tps/c02 pot to that.anyone wants to use it around the brum area pm me anyone outside of brum kiss my a--.ps am i right in saying that the c02 pot does the same thing has the tps only finer and what are the c02 readings supposed to be.cheers

I set mine to 2.5 using the gunsons meter, a good tool IMO make sure you let the meter warm up for a good half an hour at least
I checked my TPS voltage today, 0.329 volts, I tweaked it up to 0.37 .
I will borrow the gunsons meter again and go through it. as its due a valve check and balance too.

No, your wrong. In simplistic terms the Co pot is for adjusting mixture. The TPS informs the motronic how far the throttle is open/closed

it doesn't "adjust" mixture - it tells the motronic how far the throttle is open. The motronic then knows how much fuel to allow into each cylinder.

if you alter the tps, the ratio of fuel to air alters, better??

ive noticed when checking tps if the engine is started the voltage drops.is this normal and if the settings less than 3.6 does the motronic not read this.cheers
