anybody have one of these installed on their bike. thinkin bout gettin it fitted, gives a much higher chance of recovery, and gives an insurance discount.. bout £350 fitted, plus a 99 lifetime fee, a year after installation..
thoughts?
opinions?
know better?
thanks

we have trackers fitted on our vans at work and they work fine, we can call up a track log for the past 3 weeks to check on locations and vehicle speeds and even tell if the radio is on in a stationery van:thumb2 if the vehicle is stolen the tracker will even warn the thieves that the engine will stop in 5 minutes and could they pull over:D
if the bike versions are half as good then it should be a:thumb2

I had a Tracker (brand name) fitted car previously and found the firm in question great when it came to renewal of subscription but useless customer support for anything else. Ps I never had to call on the theft recovery option thankfully.
The key requirement is for the device to be hidden so it cant be found and then removed. Very difficult to do on a bike and also I suspect its easy to get around by stuffing said nicked bike into something blocking the signals ? steel transit van or storage container?.
If you want to discourage the opportunist then you will need to advertise the tracker is fitted which probably defeats the object of remaining undetected. Unless the bike is particularly rare/valuable I'd stick with standard alarm immobliser and robust lock/chain (almax?)

all obviously just imho
