How much is my bike worth?

After two years of owning and riding an 1150 GS which have been great, but the time has come to look at trading it in…but what’s the best option, trade it in a dealers or sell it privately?

It’s bog standard bike on an 02 plate in Graphitan (gunmetal grey) with 11,500 miles on the clock, heated grips, ABS, FSH, panniers, good condition (dropped once on my watch, at a standstill) so a few scratches on the engine bars, cylinder head protectors, hand protectors etc.

I will probably change my mind and keep it but it’d be good to know what it’s worth, does anybody know any good sites that give an idea?

I think I’ll try a 1200 and maybe a KTM 950, maybe some test rides will shake me out of this.

I did exactly that and she sold pretty quickly. Mine was an R1200GS.

Pity really cos I wish I'd kept it now.

if you are buying a 12 from a bmw dealer, it might be easier to trade the old one.

Your 'bike is similer to the one that I owned, and traded in for a 1200 last July........mine was a 52 plate/same colour and miles........and really really really mint.

I tried selling it....I have bought and sold plenty of 'bikes, but I got nowhere with the GS. I got just over £5,500 allowed against a new 1200.
