Trail ride. Mold/Denbigh area. Sunday 18th February 2007.

Going slow..

Tim, Timpo.. I think the slowest persons prob going to be me.. I am pretty sure Tina has more time in the saddle off road of late than me..:D

Booked into hotel for Friday and Saturday night. It'll be me (with mended thumb), Stuart and Jiff. Will meeting place and start time be the same as the last time ?

cheers,
Alan

Revelling in the comfort of a a GS off road:augie

Oh dear, and then Rocks experiences the downside of a GS off road:eek:
even the Dakar behind had to abort:eek

I can't remember ther exact words but something along the lines of "get this fecking thing off my leg":spitfire :D
130461740-L.jpg

Finally relief as Rocks is already considering buying a lighter bike for trail rides:D :D
There's probably a moral there somewhere:D
130462053-L.jpg

of course we did'nt all go out trail riding on a quarter of a ton of trail bike:blast
Here Timpo glides through a gap at speed:thumb

Tina held her own on the wee DR125:clap

Then gives it some left hand down in the nick of time:augie

Both Timpo and I had front compression punctures.
it looks as though he may have just trapped a finger here. Shame:D

Another Dakar:) whose rider name escapes me:o
But later had a nasty 'off' right in front of me with the bike sliding on top of him for around 10 yards...OUCH!!
Hope you're feeling better today mate:thumb

Towards the end of another great day albeit with depleted numbers, and once again great company, looking forward to the next one:thumb

Septic struggled for grip and here gets a helping shove.
but hats off for completing the day with those tyres:clap

Nice photos Tim.
The weather looks a lot better for this run compared to the last:augie
I know how you feel Rocks, the GS does get a bit heavy after lifting it a few times but I am glad you enjoyed a Timpo day on the lanes. I started doing a few lanes of the GS but decided to get a cheap trail bike to do the rougher ones and have really enjoyed it. I am amazed at how many lanes there are in our area.
Shame I missed all the fun but glad you all had a great day.:beerjug:

you coming or what?

Great photos Tim looks like you a had a good day :D

Forry, you too could be a feature on the next set of photos......
Get that DR350 fuelled up and on the trailer, drive up to Chirk and meet us on Fron Byway at 0930 on 10th March.
See the 'Llangollen Trail Ride' thread in the off road section.
Timpo.:thumb2

I'd love to Timpo need a trailer or one of those racks for the towbar first.:(
Think i could ride it down in 6hrs:eek: Not this time of the year though:D
I'll be down for Llangollen weekend on the GSA:thumb

Great photos Tim looks like you a had a good day :D
Your day looked fantastic also mate, despite the huskies water hose:blast

I love the open spaces you have up there.:) It's a shame it's so far away.

I don't think Timpo is able to do a ride in a fortnight from now so I may run one starting in Pentrefoilas, this also has wide open spaces:thumb

Morals..

There's probably a moral there somewhere

Oh yes there definitely is.. "A 1/4 of a tonne is still 1/4 of a tonne and you cannot change the laws of physics not matter how many TT extras you add.. :augie :D

I think it was all summed up for me, after the umpteenth drop.. when I was actually getting jelous of Tinas 125..

Best day of the year so far..:beerjug:

Hew, it was a great day.
Are you coming out on 10th March? Gone on, you know it make sense!:nono
Timpo.

It is likely I will be working, like I was this last weekend and unable to make it:blast but I am keeping an eye on the thread in case things change.
I will probably be wobbling around some lanes with my map in hand this next Saturday but my routes are never quiet as intense as yours:D
Any more in the pipeline?:beerjug:

Think about it..

Cheers Forry.. I learnt alot. Will think about Llangollen closer to the date.

Hi tim,me legs much better now thanks.Enjoyed the day and as some comedian remarked at the scene of my exit, what a lovely place to crash. And it was.anyway the bike was cheap to repair and is now functional again.
See yer again:thumb

Prices?

Hi Dude.
What sort of money did you get the bits for the repair?
Indicator, mirror and tail-end side panel, etc.
Just curious, of course.
Anyhow, have you had any joy searching for a more suitable trailbike?
I have some good green lane ride-outs coming as the weather improves.:thumb
Timpo.
