Part of me can see the positives in a trailer: Loads of kit in it, but bike un-cluttered. Leave it at the campsite and enjoy surrounding area without luggage......couple of cases of wine and stinkysausages/cheeses on the way back to Blighty....

Part of me sees the negatives: No filtering. Having a big lump like that pushing you into corners.....

I could see the benefits as well, I suppose if it was only used for the boring bits getting to where you want to be then it's left at the campsite it wouldn't be too bad , although at $1500 it's a tadge expensive, and it would be so easy to make one yourself with the right kit.

Was talking to someone the other day who has something similar on his Pan , his has a roof box from a car mounted on a chassis with a rack on the top for all his camping gear for a family of four for two weeks (his wife has a bike as well).
Apparently it is narrower than the bike with panniers on so filtering isn't a problem (max width allowed on a solo is 1 metre).
BUT you cannot use the outer lanes on autobahns and you are supposed to go no more than 60mph over here , same as a shed dragger!

Humm, I saw a Dutch 12GS with sidecar, and a trailer this sunday, unfortunately I did not get any photo.... But it looked like it was a drivable thing.

That's really interesting - but I don't read French - any idea what the cost on this trailer is?
