I got my new GS 2 months ago ( traillwing tyre on it ) , bike is great but I was missing the grip of the tourance that I had on my old 1100 GS , last week I plan a trip about 400 miles , it was raining after few miles I stop the bike something was wrong I check everything air pressure , suspention ,
nothing wrong I strated again , twisty wet road . I get fighten , the bike did not hold the road , just like a soap on wet floor : stop again check again , nothing wrong , than I started questioning the tyre ability to hold on wet
went back home ask friend to help me to put my old tourance tyre on the new bike , test again greatttttttttt it hold the road , just like I love it

do anybody have similar experience with traillwing tyre ( I hope not )
this tyre are ok on dry road but realy dangerous ( very dangerous ) on wet

Trailwings

I would agree with you re Trailwings and had an accident when riding on them in the wet last month. This was not entirely due to the tyres - tho their grip ability sure didn't help.
The Triumph Scrambler forum posts [mainly out of the US] similarly have little time for them - tho these do appear to mainly appear to be more for on-road riding.
I have them on my Triumph Scrambler [OE] and will be switching them to Tourances - we can only get Metzelers here in Thailand. You could try Continental TKCs [OE on GSA] or Dunlop Trailmax which were fitted to my 06 GS.
A recent BIKE Mag survey [June 07] rated Continental Road Attack as best on road with D's Trailmax & Avon Distanzia a joint winners for dual purpose road/semi-offroad. The TKCs were not among those tested.
I run Tourances on my GS and rate them highly even when riding during the rainy season - though you do need adjust your riding accordingly.
Karoos for off-road.
If I had a choice, I would run TKCs as they have a more off-road tread pattern than the Tourances and are less focused than the Karoos - which are not great on-road and have even less appeal when riding in the wet than Trailwings.

I had Trailwings on my R1200GS from new and in the wet they were very poor. I thought it was me at first putting on to much power but the amount of peole who have the same experience tells me its the tyres.
I have found Tourance tyres first class in rain or dry and would highly recomend them.

Ya can't beat a good Dunlop D607 ... bit soft, but grip like buggery.
